Year 2014

Well, just one day to go and I keep wondering why the last goodbyes are always painful and sad. Perhaps that's how it's supposed to be so! But my point is , I keep worrying, pondering, brooding over certain inexplicable  things  in life and try to come up with a plausible solution to it, which in the longer run is not at all that smart I tell you. Maybe time makes things in life less painful and less- inexplicable. Or maybe the higher almighty does help us. Along with tough times, god does present us something else for us - hope. The little dwindling light that keeps us going in the darkest times. With that hope and the unflinching belief in the almighty I say goodbye to the year 2014 for one last time and welcome the new year with nothing on mind and soul , like a blank slate to write the timeless stories of life.

Happy New Year In Advance.

Moments of life in a year

The memories of 2014, some  are good and  some are painful but I take life as it comes. As someone told me at the end of the day, it's only memories we are left with. Good or bad, they are still ours.
Happy Holidays!

An year that passes by

In a few days, this year is gonna end. 2014. This particular time in my life is never gonna come again. Curious thing time is! Maybe that's why they say use it wisely. And I would rather try to keep each day productive, different and fulfilling.
Looking back at the year, I try tell myself, yes I did fight!
Each month  Each day was a new promise, new challenge,
It's like a two sides of a coin, the dark side and the good one
together is what makes life worth living!
I rather tried to stay positive, fought for my way of life
Did take things upon my sleeve and moved ahead.
And I continue to fight!
because I don't give up so easily!    (and Amen to that)

P.S: Several years later when I think of this time, I hope that I will remember my 23 old self as a fighter, never letting things to let you down.

The weather in Vizag is as crazy as i am. :-p.  Let me tell you one thing, the story of a person is best told my the unpublished posts left in draft than the actual posts. Food for thought !!

The books i read

Although so many things sucked for me this year, one thing which makes me content is my reading resolution.
I did complete 25 books(apart from the articles and short stories I read) and on its way to 30!
So which books I read? what genre? Personally I like nonfiction, that's apparent if you see my book list.
But I do like to lay hands on anything that interests me :).

And list of books are: Bookworm(that's the name of the book list: -D)

1. The Christmas promise
2. The  number one ladies detective agency
3.  The blue umbrella
4. The diary of wimpy kid series
5. Lean in
6. Conversations of Mani Ratnam
7. Grand mother's tale
8. Harry Potter series (shame I know)
9. Romeo and Juliet
10. Seven secrets of Shiva
11. AR Rahman  biography
12. Magic drums and other stories by Sudha Murthy
13. The old man and his goat by Sudha Murthy
14. The grandma bag of stories by Sudha Murthy
15. Who will cry when I die by Robin Sharma
16. The adventures of Sherlock Holmes
17. The return of Sherlock Holmes

The kid in wimpy kid series is as wimpier as me: -P.  I am a fan of R k Narayan stories and covered most of his works, but few are a still left. And coming to Harry Potter series, being a 90's kid, it's a shame I didn't read them till now and I first saw the movies. But as they say, better late than never, I read them and enjoyed them so well.
About  ARR and Mani Ratnam, I adore them and yes the books are clearly for people who are as curious about films as me. Planning to buy some of the MR films I don't have. I like Kannithil Muthamittal more among his movies, the BGM of that movie is outstanding!!
Sudha Murthy books are great to read, simple English and great messages to people. The philanthropic side of me picked these novels. Seven secrets of Shiva shows my spiritual side.
Who will die when I cry is a book you have to read if you believe in self-improvement and becoming a better person.
Sherlock Holmes is my darling. Love his novels and as a follow up watched the movies: -P. Robert Downey Jr is brilliant! sigh! Well, that's my saga with books. Hope to come back soon here again. c ya!!!

Of the days that went by

I have been so inactive here,  lack of interest? no, then why? Should find out! Anyways coming back, want a quick wind up to the last few months, my last post was on June 28(shame!).

My garden is growing beautifully,  I Love green.

The power of green

The past few weeks climate in my city taught me something, plain and simple.     If you take care of trees they will take care of you! I never thought the climate is going to change so drastically over such short span. I admit I have been stone deaf to the pleas of good far-sighted people around me(I so fortunately have) ,so  now I pledged myself to grow plants in my house, take care of them, nurture them  into a garden if possible and also to pester people around me to do the same:-p.

So why am I here after many months of shameless absence from blogging,   (that I admit with a blushed cheeks ) I have  absolutely nothing  to share. I hate the usual summer months and this year it was dreadfully long and stretched  too (it's almost  July !), and I was parched, drenched in sweat, seriously hoping and praying it will cool down. So I thought  if I blog, at least one will read it and ponder on it for a minute.  So here's the motto, let's plant more trees and  contribute for a less polluted environment  for us and for the generations to come.

P.S.: If you are  responsible and caring enough for the environment  , I salute you. This post is for people like me:-p.

It is the season for marriages, heavy costumes, and rich weddings. The sun is already scorching, and I shudder to think of  coming months.  I hate summer and they say its gonna be worst this time. God save me!!

Apart from ranting about summer and I am  much more active, morning walks, a bit of shopping and ya some dose of munchies when I read. BTW,  I have been reading some fantastic books these days. This year looks promising for me reading wise.  ya so happy: D

The Art of Giving

I have been reading a lot these days. Ah and yes my one of the resolutions for this year 2014 being 25 books to read. But I m just letting it loose and reading voraciously,  every book I can lay my hands on.

And while I was reading some articles I came across a topic on donation and was hit by a new perspective (that's the advantage of reading) , I have seen many people giving offerings to god, either money, jewels. But I felt  it's better to donate to organizations that truly help a cause or a group, it's more helpful and far more gratifying too.

I have to bring a note here , giving or not is more of a personal choice but still , helping people in need is also  a way of serving god and I personally never believed much in offerings to god, though my family did (a lot in fact!).

P.S: Giving a rupee to a roadside beggar is not donating for god's sake, please don't encourage that.(I see a lot of proud faces and all they donate is a rupee sigh!)

A Lesson Honey bees taught me.

A few days back when I was busy talking to my friend  on  phone, I heard something rustling at my room's window panel and I saw a swarm of bees trying to build a beehive.

This is not the first time animals, birds try to make way into my bedroom, they just love me ;) Honeybees added to the list of rats, sparrows, squirrels, pigeons that visit my room.

But this time driving them out was  a herculean task and we all had our backs broken! But something caught my  curious self this time, no matter how much we try to drive them off, they use to keep coming and this went on for two to three days.

I think I came to understand the message those bees are trying to tell everyone" WE NEVER GIVE UP". Maybe I have to learn that, not to give up the dream your are dreaming to fulfill, the goal you are trying to reach. Good job little fellows :)

PS., Happy New Year, I know I am late, but, as they say, better late than never.
